Ebook Cover Creator for Free! Beautiful 3D Covers Free!

In this article, I’m going to show you how you can create beautiful 3D Ebook Covers for your marketing! I was amazed when I found this free resource, and now that I’ve been creating Ebooks with the Designrr tool, I love being able to have a gorgeous cover picture to market my ebooks.

Ebooks are critical for online marketing, and I’ll tell you why. You are going to want to use them to capture names and emails of people who visit your site. Why? It’s because if they don’t buy from you on the first visit, having their email address gives you the chance to stay on their mind.

How does an Ebook capture an email?  You offer to give it to your reader for free.  When they say yes, they want it, you ask for their name and email, and then you give them the free resource!  Super easy!

Once you have captured their email address, you can now send them valuable information, and once they find that you are trustworthy and honest, and if they enjoy the content you provide in your emails, they will be more likely to buy from you.

Choose the Ebook you need a cover for

You can go ahead and click on the DIY Book Design Logo above, and you’ll be taken to their website.

This is a free resource.  I almost can’t believe it’s free because it’s super cool and fun to use.  I’m going to show you in this article how to use it to create beautiful Ebook covers!

So, let’s get started.  I’ve created an ebook called How to Add Cool Text to a Photo, and I need an Ebook cover picture to go along with it.  Here we go!

Step 1 - Choose the layout of the cover

You can choose a single book or a composite book.  You simply click on your choice.

You'll need a picture for the cover

Here’s where one of my favorite sites, Canva.com comes into play.  I use Canva to create most of my graphics that I use for my marketing!

So, let’s head over to Canva and create a nice book cover for this Ebook!

First, I’m going to choose the Pinterest graphic because it has the shape I’m looking for!

You can choose a pre-made template (please note that some are free and say so, and some carry a charge).  I choose a free one:

Next, I’m going to edit this to fit my Ebook theme.  I click on the Uploads button and upload an appropriate picture:

Now I can insert it into the template:

I’m going to change the wording to my title and put myself as author.  I added my logo at the top, and I added the words “Cool Text” on the picture to go along with the title:

So now I’m ready to make my awesome book cover!  Back over to DIY Book Design I go:

Browse, Click Upload, and then Click on Next:

Choose JPG or PNG.  I’m going to choose JPG:

The finished product

Ta-da!  Here it is:

There!  What do you think?

If you click on the book above, you can view the actual Ebook!

  1. This is such a cool idea, I already bookmarked your page and I will be trying this on my own website. There are so many different free ways to boost your business, we can’t possibly know them all.  That’s why it is great when we can learn about new options, we never even knew existed. Very informative and I really enjoyed it.

Thank you for the great information.

    1. Lots of fun and free tools, for sure.  I did pay the $27 for the lifetime membership to Designrr which is where I create my ebooks, but this cool cover maker software, they don’t charge for, which is amazing.  Anyway, enjoy, and thanks for stopping by!  ~ Babs

  2. Thank you for saving my time to do research about creating the cover for my upcoming eBook. I have been preparing content for an eBook and most recently I thought of doing some research about creating a cover but I haven’t got the time to do it yet.

Now that I can just follow this comprehensive tutorial and with the help of ‘diybookcovers’, it seems like a very easy task. Thank you for the recommendation and also the handy tutorial. Keep up the good work!

  3. Wow! This is so cool! I have written two ebooks before, the first was a flop, and the second never made it to the best sellers lists. I believe the cover will sell the book if selected correctly. I had an old program years ago that made Ebook covers but doesn’t work anymore. This program, the eBook cover creator is exactly what I have been looking for. I am curious though, how many formats can you save the ebook cover that you have created?

  4. Ah, the ebook cover creator. I remember creating my very first ebook to offer as a lead magnet to my readers. And I’m telling you from experience, it was a serious struggle to get a beautiful cover up since I’m horrible at design.

I had to purchase an ebook cover creator to simplify the process, but unfortunately, the software I bought was a ripoff. It couldn’t produce the design I wanted for my book cover. In the end, I forced myself to learn Photoshop and watched basic tutorials like how to edit layers, then I downloaded a script for the 3D ebook design I wanted.

Judging from how you used Designrr, it seemed like you were having fun doing it. Makes me wanna’ try it out and create another ebook for my online business. Hope I don’t get ripped off this time!

    1. It’s literally so easy!  Amazing!  You can create them with drag and drop or you can simply import the url from your own post and edit from there.  You can import multiple urls.  The sky is the limit.  $27 lifetime access, no monthly fee like they normally charge on their website.  Take it!  You won’t be sorry!  ~ Babs

  5. There are so many amazing programs to create and I use Cava a lot but I hadn’t heard of the 3d book cover and I am thrilled to read this post and I am going to go try and create my very 1st ebook cover and then go to designrr to complete my ebook

Babs. thank you-you are incredibly helpful and I love all you give on this website

    You rock!!!

    1. Wow, vicki, well I appreciate you taking your time to leave me such a nice comment!  I’m glad I can help!  ~ Babs

  6. This is great information and very timely, as I am about to create another e-book about home decor!

You surprised me a bit, I have to confess, because I have used Designrr.io to create e-books, but never realized you could create a cover with it! I’ve always gone to my old standby, Canva! Guess it’s been a while since I used the Designrr platform!

Will be revisiting soon to check it out. Appreciate the tip and tutorial and will keep it bookmarked to return to for guidance. Loved the article – well done!

  7. Great topic and great advice! This is a really useful site and that it creates 3D covers is outstanding. Your info on email capturing is invaluable. I agree that such a product for free is pretty unbelievable. Choosing the layout, uploading a graphic, this looks like a pretty seamless process. Your book cover looks awesome! I’ve bookmarked your post for future reference, well done!

  8. I have published a couple of books on Amazon but my sales figures aren’t great if I’m honest. I think it is all down to the fact that the cover was created with the free Amazon book cover creator and there are very little royalty free images to choose from so I think if I had found this free book cover creator sooner I would have made a lot more sales.

at the end of the day, a great book cover will sell better than a poorly made one, wouldn’t it?

do you know if there is a way of changing my ebook cover on Amazon if I used this free creator to make a better one than i already have?

i also have an ebook on my website that I give away when people sign up to my email list that i need to change and this is just the thing that i have been looking for, so thanks 🙂

    1. You know, I’m not sure.  You may have to withdraw the one with the old cover, re-do the cover and then re-submit.  I don’t know how that affects what you’re selling, if it hurts you somehow.  Otherwise, I would check with them and see how you can upgrade your display image.  There must be a way to do it.  ~ Babs

  9. Gee, Babs, this is really cool.

I’ve been cooking for decades and have modified many recipes to my own liking. I’ve always thought about writing a cookbook or having my recipes on a restaurant menu. Maybe I can do this.

Great technical skills, by the way. Screenshots, videos. Color, dazzle, clear descriptions. Very professional.

What a pro you are. You’ve made it easy to know that this is available and that I can do this when I’m ready. I have so many recipes in file.docs on my computer. This could make publishing easier.

You are a great coach. An inpiration.

    Thank you.

    Mike

  10. Thanks for introducing with ebook cover creator. I got to know the importance of ebook capture from your article. The steps look very easy to set up. I learned a new thing today from your article. Thank you for the article. I enjoyed reading it.  It’s helpful indeed. Well done and keep up the good work.

    1. Oh, I definitely will, Fahim!  It’s what I do!  I’m glad you have enjoyed the articles!  ~ Babs

  11. Hi, Babs and thanks for this great post.  I’m almost to the point where I will be considering producing an E-book for my site and I have been looking around the internet to see what’s available.

I have been using Canva for a couple of smaller projects on my site and I really like it but,  didn’t know I could do covers as well. It looks like the two work together well.

Going to have to look into this further.  Thanks for putting this out there. I think it’s going to be a big help when the time comes for me to take the E-book jump.

    Thanks again, Babs,

    Wayne

    1. Absolutely wonderful that you’re thinking of this.  Creating ebooks is so easy with the Designrr program, it’s as simple as using the url from one of your articles, and it copies everything over, including pictures and links.  It’s pretty crazy how easy it is to use.  I think you’ll like it.  It’s fun to use and helpful for your business!
