Get Traffic with Pinterest! Wealthy Affiliate strategies work!

One of the main benefits of belonging to Wealthy Affiliate is the training, and if you are interested in social media to grow your traffic, Wealthy Affiliate is the place to be! Get Traffic with Pinterest! You’ll learn multiple strategies for getting traffic through the Pinterest Social Media Site.

Today I’m going to review the Wealthy Affiliate training class from the Affiliate BootcampPhase 4Lesson 2 of 10An Image Says a THOUSAND Things! This course is taught by Kyle who is one of the owners/creators of the Wealthy Affiliate Platform and University.

Get traffic with Pinterest

“Pinning” it

If you’re not familiar with the Pinterest platform, then you may not know the term “pinning.” This just means making a post on the platform, which requires you to “pin” a picture with it. That’s all. If you are not using Pinterest and pinning all your content, you are missing out on a huge source of traffic!

Pinterest is the fastest growing site ever on the internet – that’s crazy – so let’s get you set up with an account and have you start “pinning” your content! It’s super easy, and I’m even going to direct you to an automated system to do it efficiently and easily later in this article!

How popular is Pinterest?

Here is the traffic analysis for the website! It’s pretty incredible to see how many people are visiting the site. Take a look here:

Scope the Competition

Search Engine Optimization - SEOIn this training module, Kyle goes over how to “spy” on the competition of your niche. It’s the perfect platform. You can find other marketers who have pins in your niche and see what’s working. What do readers gravitate to? You can follow their pins through to their sites and see what kind of information they are providing their readers.

Please don’t misunderstand me. One of the main things Wealthy Affiliate teaches you over and over is the need for you to always have original, relevant content on your site, so I am not in any way suggesting that you should copy another marketer’s website. However, you can see what types of information are popular, what’s trending, and what kinds of pins are attracting readers.

Set aside some time weekly to really get in and see what’s up in your niche! It will guide you toward what kind of content you want to focus on for your posts.

Post every article

You must focus the majority of your time in creating relevant, timely content on your site, but it is important that you get those posts out there for people to find. Part of your time needs to be spent posting your articles on your social media accounts, and that includes your Pinterest account!

I’m going to give you a link to each of my social media sites here so you can see for yourself how I do it. You’ll see each and every post I make on each of my accounts. As soon as I’m done with a post, I immediately hit my social share icons for each of my accounts and I post my article on my pages. This keeps my social media sites fresh with new content, and it gets people coming to my site to read my articles!

Here are my links. (Please be sure to “like” or “friend” me on each of them so we can connect):

Video Training

Kyle is an awesome teacher, I have to say. I really love his training style. His style is easy to understand, and he usually incorporates video into his training modules as well. In this module, he does provide a video training entitled Utilizing Pinterest to Boost Your Wealthy Affiliate Campaigns.

In his video, Kyle goes through setting up a Pinterest account and how to create “Boards.” Boards are useful to categorize your Pins. I have several different boards on my account. I have a “Website Design” board where I focus on pinning posts that relate to things like graphics, themes and pictures on your site. I have another board called “Affiliate Marketing” where I post articles that relate to various affiliate marketing programs.

Whatever your niche, you can break it down into categories and make yourself Boards to sort your pins

Another thing that Kyle stresses is the importance of being “social” on social media platforms. You should never drop and go. It’s not a one-way street. It’s a give and take type of thing, which is why it’s called “social” media. So be social. If you see something of interest, go ahead and “re-pin” it on your board. Comment, like and share other people’s information!

The Secret Sauce

TAILWINDThis is a program that I learned about through the Wealthy Affiliate community, and I’m super excited to share it with you. It’s called Tailwind! You’re going to love this program! It puts Pinterest on steroids, lol! Seriously, it helps you to Pin your posts on a schedule over time, and to various boards. You join Tribes, so you are sharing their content and they are sharing yours. It’s an amazing program, and you can try it for free!

  1. I am using Pinterest for some time now but you have to really spend time on it to drive a lot of traffic. It’s not very hard if you know how to do it but it needs time in order for your followers to grow. In the end all social media are similar and I think Pinterest is another good way to expand your influence.

    1. Actually, the Tailwind program makes it super easy to use.  You can schedule all your Pins in a minute.  It makes it a breeze!  – Babs

  2. I just recently became a part of tailwind and I am just as impressed as you are. Pinning and scheduling contents can be a rather tedious task but with tailwind it becomes very easy as you are able to schedule pins to multiple boards at a go. It has really made the way I do things on Pinterest much easier.

Pinterest is definitely one of the best social media to promote a blog and various products. Google is definitely not the only way to attract visitors to a website. Although I am not yet an expert on Pinterest, I am very happy to be making use of it.

  3. Great article. I’m new to this and have been thinking about adding in some sort of social media. I have never been on pinterest so it was interesting to read about it. What do you feel is the best social media to focus on to get traffic? Is it pinterest, facebook or instagram? Also how much of your traffic comes from social media?

    1. I would say about half of my traffic (maybe a little more) is social media driven at this point.  Pinterest has given me the biggest bang for the buck for sure!  – Babs

  4. Hi there.

This is actually informative and educating. Wealthy Affiliate is the super best place to learn affiliated marketing. I always like the way Kyle articulate his points in every tutorial. They have really made it easy to learn. Social Media is very very important if one needs to grow his niche website. It is actually good to interact on every single platform like Twitter, Facebook etc. Mastering the act of dropping good content on our website is really the best way to go.

  5. Great article. I love Pinterest as you can always find such interesting topics and you can pin them so that you have them for future reference.

By using Pinterest I also find that others share my content with their friends which makes your posts go viral. It’s also great that you can file in different topics and look for certain topics. I find this platform great for promoting your content.

    1. You’re absolutely right, Michel!  It is a great way to organize data and go back to it.  I love reading other people’s articles!  I get so much great information!   – Babs

  6. Wow Babs! Reading through the first paragraph of your post, gave me all the information I need to understand about pinterest. I am not new in internet world, in fact I am social media freak, but I must be honest with you that your article is the only post that has given me the vivid picture of what pinterest is all about. I never knew it all means pining a picture with a post on the platform and that makes a whole lot of sense because pictures send clearer message than just text.I love Wealthy Affiliate, the few months I have been there has been great as I keep learning new things everyday. From your detailed explanation of pinterest platform together with Kyle’s training on the topic, it is truly a great way of growing traffic, a free traffic for that matter.

    1. You’re very kind, Gracen, thank you for your comment!  I’m so glad you got something out of my article!  That makes me happy!   – Babs

  7. I’m actually here to research about growing traffic with Pinterest, but now I’ve found something more interesting. I like this training made by Kyle guy. Is he the owner of Wealthy Affiliate? Is there more research and training about growing traffic  with Pinterest and other social media? Also back to the topic, Is Tailwind some kind of social media scheduler like Hootsuite, or just bot posting any picture from my website? Thank you for your answers

    1. Yes, definitely similar to Hootsuite.  You can try it out for free by signing up under my Tribe, and there are tutorials.  – Babs

  8. Great piece you have here. I must say that I have learnt something new about online marketing by just taking few minutes out of my time to read this article.  I am also a member of wealthy affiliate even though I have not gotten to this lesson yet ,you just increased my zeal and tenacity to want to finish my trainings and get practical. No online business works without online marketing and as you’ve made it clear here, social media is a great medium to market your online business. Great post, thanks, Babs!

  9. Hi,This is my 3rd month with Wealthy Affiliates and I must say it’s been amazing so far. I get to see lots of training resources every day on the platform, however, I haven’t really paid close attention to Pinterest since my niche isn’t so visually oriented (or so I thought).I never knew that Pinterest is such a great platform that has the potential of driving tons of traffic to any website. I have an account since 2013 or so but haven’t really used it due to lack of knowledge on how the site works. I am yet in the level 2 courses and haven’t got to the stage where Kyle teaches about Pinterest yet. From your explanation, I can see that the platform isn’t too hard to understand and I need to be pinning my posts regularly. I have liked your facebook page and will do likewise with your other social media handles. Thanks for drawing my attention to this awesome training on the Wealthy Affiliates program.

    1. Thanks so much for visiting my facebook page.  It’s great when people appreciate the work I put into my business, and I’m always here to help.  I’m glad you’re involved in the Wealthy Affiliate program.  It’s great, and you’ll be very successful if you follow the program.  – Babs

  10. Awesome information from you. One of thing I enjoyed being a member of wealthy affiliate is the unbeatable training and follow up that’s provided. The trainings are very easy to understand and even newbies have little to worry about because there are numerous experts bloggers that are willing to help out in any issue including Kyle and Carson, the owners. This Pinterest seems to be another good tool to help bring in more traffic and its good for a trial. And the idea of placing post on social media is great!

  11. This is gold! Thank you for posting such an interesting article. I wasn’t aware that pinterest is so popular. I just realized that I am missing a lot of potential traffic by not being part of this social media.

The one thing that captured my interest the most in your post was when you mentioned tailwind. I think that will be my bestfriend going forward.

Now, I’ve got to go and be social!

  12. I know close to nothing about Pinterest, but, I’m always impressed with the quality and helpful pictures I get from the social media, whenever I use it to look for pictures.

I just set up my website with Wealthy Affiliate and I’ve been wondering about the social media platform that would be most advantageous to me in getting lots of qualitative traffic.  Although, I put facebook on the top of my list of considerations previously, I think I’d change my mind and place Pinterest tops instead, thanks to your informative, detailed, and engaging article on getting traffic with Pinterest.

  13. Nice article! I am working on affiliate marketing myself and am definitely seeing the value of social media. Although Pinterest doesn’t seem to be doing the trick/be the best for me right now, I will give it time and hopefully it will become beneficial. I do need to be more active on Pinterest as well, however. What would you say your favourite part about Pinterest is? Thanks for the beneficial article!

    1. Well, Kohl, my favorite part is reading other people’s articles, to be honest.  I’ve learned so much from what other marketers are doing and what’s working for them.  I’m like a sponge, I love the learning.  I try not to spend too much time reading and more of my time marketing, but it is a great give and take platform.   – Babs

  14. Great information! I know Wealthy Affiliate is a great place to learn internet marketing. I also know that posting on social media is very important for an online business to be successful. I had no idea though how many people use Pinterest, the stats are impressive! Honestly, I have never spent much time there but I am going to check into it now! How much time per day do you spend on your social media campaigns? I have never heard of the Tailwinds program but I am definitely going to check it out. Thanks again for sharing your experience, it is appreciated!

    1. I’m so glad you got value, Walker, and you definitely need to try the Tailwind program.  It’s impressive.  I spend probably about an hour a day on social media marketing, depending on how many articles I have created.  I try to do at least one article (sometimes two or three) a day.  I market each article on all my platforms.   – Babs

  15. I absolutely agree with this, people often underestimate how much traffic pinterest or any other social media platforms generate. I personally get about 30% of my organic traffic from social media.

This article is right to the point, love it.

Especially how you explain it in easy to follow steps, content worth sharing!

  16. I never knew before now that one can pull a lot of traffic from pinterest prior to reading your article. Your article has really been eye-opening as i have learned quite a number of things i didnt know initially. Am really impressed to know that the training could be gotten from the Affiliate Bootcamp phase 4 lesson 2 class. Though i am currently at lesson 1, and i hope to get to lesson two also in no time. Thanks so much for this very useful information, it has really been helpful.

    1. That is so good to hear,Dapoach!  I’m super excited when people get good value from my articles!  Let me know how else I can help!  – Babs

  17. I can say anything that comes from wealthy affiliate is going to be worth trying, this is the first time I’m coming across pinterest as a means of getting loads of traffic to my website, I had to read this post twice to make sure i got the message passed across, and I’m definitely going to give this a  try andkeep the traffic coming in.

  18. I have begun pinning my posts on Pinterest and it’s become one of the little chunks of strategies I do when I make another post.  It has been interesting seeing the way the thing is developing.  Not sure yet about the effects of it, but I do know that before doing the blog I was such an avid pinner that I’ve got over 10,000 followers.  Not quite sure what that all means, but it does show there’s a lot of potential in the thing.

I like your idea of exploring the boards of others who work in my niche, which is mainly about lifestyle choices and different mindsets that add sparkle to ordinary living.  It is, I am thinking, a good way to get more ideas for posts, and perhaps will lead me in new directions as well.

Thanks for sharing your ideas, Babs….

    1. It sounds like you’re doing a great job with Pinterest.  You definitely want to try the Tailwind program.  It will boost what you’ve already started.  – Babs

Thanks again for sharing your experience, I love it!Wealthy affiliate is the only platform I have been on for the past few months and I have not gotten a reason to regret. I learn and make money. I love the training on WA. You don’t know what you don’t know!

  20. Nice article on wealthy affiliate strategies that work, there are so many things to learn on wealthy affiliate in terms of strategies, creative ,support and so on in which Pinterest is part of.  In other words, to get traffic to your website, and the most beautiful part of it is that anyone can join and make use of the system without having any knowledge about it before.

    1. Thanks so much!  You’re right.  Anybody can follow the training, set up their websites, they make it so simple!  – Babs

  21. I am about to create a Pinterest account but I don’t really know how the membership following is on Pinterest. What I mean is this, If I register on Pinterest as a newmember, am I going to be able to draw attention massively and make other members notice my posts. Please is it possible to achieve this as a new member of Pinterest?

    1. All platforms take time to build a following, obviously, but you can join Tribes on Tailwind which will get your posts seen immediately, which is a huge benefit of Tailwind.  You join the Tribes for immediate exposure.  Otherwise, you build your following like any other platform.   – Babs

  22. Hey Babs,I couldn’t agree more with you about Pinterest. It’s an awesome platform reaching millions of people.

I always believed that a picture is worth a thousand words and with Pinterest this is certainly the case.I always submit my articles to the social media networks and especially Pinterest.

I read about Tailwind before but I haven’t tried it yet and will now. We all need some kind of traffic on steroids :-)Kyle teaches many great things and this is definitely one of them. Now I know why Pinterest is so vital to our business. Thanks for some great advice!
