Here we are, continuing through the Clickbank University, and I’m trying to kind of speed things up because I want to be able to report back to you, my readers and students, on the value of the program before you spend the money. I am progressing through the modules, and so I wanted to fill you in on what was covered so far.

We have a lot to go through, so let’s get into it!
The trainers do take the time to give motivation throughout the training, but as someone who has been marketing for a while, I found myself wanting to fast-forward through this part. If I was new, however, it would probably be helpful. The emphasis in this module was on building a long-term business more than just marketing products and making sales.
The way they teach you to do that is by always getting email addresses from your “traffic” (the people who visit your website). You don’t want people coming and then leaving and you never know who they are! Instead, you want to think about building your business for the long term, nurturing your visitors over time so that you can build rapport with them to bring them to trust you.
Leverage your traffic! Collect information from them before they leave. How do you do that? Squeeze pages!
Setting up Squeeze Pages
The training shows you exactly how to set up the most effective squeeze pages to convince people to put in their name and their email. This puts them on your list, thereby giving you the opportunity to send them great information over time which builds their trust in you. People buy from people they trust, and people trust those who provide value without constantly trying to sell them something.
I have to say I got a lot of value out of this training module. There were a lot of things I did not know about setting up squeeze pages, and I learned quite a bit about what to do and what not to do. It was a long training, and it went into several aspects of setting up a squeeze page, walked you through how to do it with their Clickbank Builder.
I did not purchase the Clickbank Builder because I am a member of the Wealthy Affiliate, so I build my websites through them. They offer free websites as well as the Premium membership (I am a premium member). The training went through the Clickbank Builder but also incorporated the email marketing campaign set-up as well through AWeber.
They teach you the common strategy of capturing someone’s name and email by giving away something of value. You can give away a free report like and e-book (you can make beautiful ebooks directly from your website articles with a creative tool called Designrr). You can also send them to a video link with a presentation in it if you like.
Whatever you give for free, make sure your reader loves it! This is your first time showing them what you’ve got to offer them, you don’t want to disappoint them or appear to be just trying to sell them something!
Email Marketing Campaigns
The strategy they teach is to set up what’s called a “campaign,” and the platform they recommend is AWeber. I’m glad, because that is the platform that I do use for my email marketing! AWeber is simple to use and has a ton of features to make beautiful emails and specific campaigns.
What is a “campaign?” It’s a series of emails you send out on auto-pilot. The last thing you want to do is spend all your time writing emails to everyone who visits your website. What you need to do, instead, is create your emails once, and then direct your campaign to send out those emails in specific intervals over time to anyone who downloads your free report.
Your first email would be the email with the report as an attachment, thanking them for downloading your report, and letting them know you’ll be sending them some more emails with great information that will help them.
The next email might be three days later, giving them more tips or tricks or whatever you think they would like (based on your niche and the report you sent them). Do not sell to them in this email nor in your next email, perhaps another 3-4 days later. In the email you send after that third email, you can present them with something you think would help them with an affiliate link.
Clickbank University teaches, just like I have learned through the Wealthy Affiliate program, that your first job is to provide great information of value to your readers. Selling is second to researching and writing excellent content. Keep that in mind as you create your email campaign.
Whatever niche you are working in should be something that you love. It should be something you enjoy researching about and learning about, so you are a reader of other people’s websites in that niche as well.
What works? What grabs your attention when you visit a website in your niche? Which headlines grab your attention? Go ahead and sign up for some free reports on other websites in your niche. What are these popular sites sending out? Do you find value in their reports?
You can set up a gmail account specifically for this research so you don’t clog up your regular email accounts with a lot of reports and marketing. This strategy will also give you a clean email account to review the marketing materials the other marketers send to you, because once you sign up for their report, they will begin their campaigns on you! How sweet is that?
Please note that I am in no way telling you to copy what other people are doing. That is a horrible idea, and the search engines will penalize you if you dare copy other people’s sites and work.
What I am telling you to do is to get ideas so you can create your own unique content that follows suit with what works. You will know what you like and what would perhaps cause you to take notice or buy a product, right?
Headlines That Get Opened
The trainers go over what makes good headlines. This is part of what you’re going to be doing in the free report above, but it’s good to know strategies on what has been shown to work. For example, did you know that odd numbers work better than even numbers, and the number 7 is one of the best ones to get your content noticed?
It’s funny, right? Why would that be the case? I have no idea, but let’s take it from the pros and follow suit. If you’re going to put together a report, why not do “7 Ways to Build a Picnic Table Cheap” or “7 Marketing Strategies That Convert”? That is why getting trained and educated is so important when you are building a business. Who wants to have to test all this yourself? Isn’t it better to learn from those that have already tested?
The next modules in Clickbank University concentrated on Social Media marketing, but they taught on a strategy that I had never heard of, never learned about, and one that they teach works like a charm and builds your email list like crazy. The trainers say that they use one of the strategies almost exclusively in their own businesses. I was pretty impressed with that.
The one strategy that I plan to implement in my own business is a paid strategy they teach, but the way they present it and teach it in detail, you don’t have to spend a lot of money, and the results are pretty amazing. You can set up your first campaign for about $40, and the results are almost immediate.
I am a big believer in creating organic traffic through the search engines, and I spend a lot of time on keyword research through the Jaaxy keyword research tool. The Jaaxy tool is a unique keyword research tool that Premium members of the Wealthy Affiliate program get for free. The Wealthy Affiliate program also offers a 100% free membership called Starter, and you get 30 keyword searches free with that program. I do not want to spend a lot of time on marketing, so I will continue to use the SEO strategies I have learned through my Wealthy Affiliate University Training, but I will report back to you in another article when I try their unique paid strategy and let you know how much success I had with it. Creating a Video Presentation
The next training went over something I had already learned, and it is something that I am going to be presenting in another article on this site, and that is how to create a video sales presentation for your blog. The trainer did a great job presenting the information, although it was a little long and tedious to watch (maybe because I already knew how to do it). Perhaps someone who had never done it before would find it more interesting, I don’t know, but the training was done in great detail.
The one thing I have to say I liked is that she gave lots of free resources to create the presentation like free picture sites. She also went into those sites to show you how to set up accounts there as well.
